A driving examiner is injured in a test day crash every three days according to a newspaper report.
Figure obtained by the MirrorOnline, claim that in the past year 120 examiners have been hurt when testing learner drivers with 42 being hospitalised or needing a doctor, 13 requiring first aid and 65 being self-treated.
The figures from the Driving and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) said that 35 candidates and six third parties were also hurt.
The figures also claimed that 501 people crashed their cars on tests days in the past year although half were as a result of other drivers’ actions.
The report into the figures stated: “DVSA incident rates for practical car driving tests have consistently been between 0.3 and 0.5 incidents per 1,000 tests. These figures remain consistent in recent years."
